Pride Month 2026: Celebrating Inclusion, Community and Wellbeing
June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, recognise the progress made towards equality, and reflect on the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels safe, valued and heard.
At CAPITAL, we believe that mental health support should be accessible, inclusive and welcoming to all. We know that many LGBTQIA+ people continue to face challenges such as discrimination, stigma, rejection, bullying, or barriers to accessing appropriate support. These experiences can have a significant impact on mental wellbeing.
Research consistently shows that LGBTQIA+ people are more likely to experience poor mental health because of the inequalities and challenges they may encounter in society. Creating supportive communities, opportunities for connection, and inclusive services can make a real difference.
Last month, members and volunteers proudly represented CAPITAL at Chichester Pride, celebrating diversity, community and acceptance. Events like Pride remind us of the power of belonging and the positive impact that supportive communities can have on our wellbeing.
At CAPITAL, we are committed to ensuring that everyone who accesses our services feels respected, included and able to be themselves. Whether through our peer support groups, volunteering opportunities or community activities, we strive to create spaces where people can connect without judgement.
