A Sweet Success: Heartfelt Thanks to Wiley Publishers
Every act of kindness has a ripple effect, and sometimes it all starts with cake!
We’re thrilled to share a wonderful story of generosity from the team at John Wiley & Sons, especially the efforts of the Small Donations Committee led by Ruby and supported by a brilliant group of colleagues, including their Mental Health First Aiders, the SDC recently hosted a bake sale in support of our work. The event was a great success, raising £192.
In an incredibly thoughtful gesture, the SDC chose to match the donation and add a little extra, bringing the total contribution from Wiley to £400.
Thanks to Wiley’s donation, we will be able to keep our art group running for the next few months. This group was at risk of closure due to recent funding cuts, and the money raised will allow us to cover the cost of a rented space through the winter. When we shared the news with one of the art group facilitators, they were so thankful. The art group is more than just a creative outlet. It is a vital social space that helps many of our members, especially during the Christmas season, which can be a difficult time for some.
To everyone at Wiley who took part – whether you baked, organised, donated or helped spread the word, thank you! Your kindness has made a real difference.
Your support reminds us that even small acts, like baking a cake or choosing a charity to support, can help change lives. You have helped keep a safe, creative and welcoming space open for people who truly need it.
