A reach out from East Sussex public health: Have you been bereaved of a loved one by suicide at Beachy Head?
A reach out from East Sussex public health:
“Beachy Head in our county of East Sussex is now likely to be the highest frequency single place of death by suicide globally. Places that have successfully reduced suicides in frequent location have done so with the support and engagement of bereaved people – the families and friends of those whose lives are lost.
We are seeking to reach out nationally to all who have lost friends or family to suspected suicide at Beachy Head to hear their stories and learn from them in our work and hopefully to channel their stories into new consolidated prevention activity. To this end, we are holding an event here in East Sussex to bring together these family and friends and to begin building this new work.
We would be indebted to you if you could share this flyer and information, with the sensitivity we know you will have, with anyone you are aware of within your service or organisation who has lost a loved one at Beachy Head. If you are a network or partnership, we would be indebted to you if you could please share with all your members/partners too.
People come from all over the UK and the world to die at Beachy Head, and we therefore need to cast our net as wide as possible.”
