Read more about how you can get involved here

Sussex Partnership have asked for Capital's involvement in shaping their plans for the future. See info below;

Our organisational strategy (People, Prevention and Partnerships) runs until end of March 2025. The focus for us throughout 2024 will be developing our new strategy to determine our vision for the future. We will be working with our staff, people with experience of using our services, our partners, and the wider community to identify how we will prioritise our collective effort, expertise and resources to improve the quality of life for the local communities we serve.

The principles of co-production are at the heart of this process. We want to produce an organisational strategy that people recognise and own, as a result of being able to see how their contribution has shaped it.

Context

The world around us has changed significantly since our current strategy was developed back in 2019. The need for health and care change is driven by a whole range of pressures, including an

aging population, increasing numbers of patients with long-term and multiple health conditions, health inequalities, constrained resources, rising costs of medicines and, more recently, the health, social and economic fall-out from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Responding to these challenges requires fundamental change. It requires us to transform the way we work, change the way our services are provided and do things differently with our partners. We will use the strategy co-production process to think boldly, creatively and radically with you about how we can continue to provide high quality care for people with mental health problems, learning disabilities and neurodiversity.

Work with us to develop our future focus

Over the course of the year I would be very grateful if you would work with us to define our vision and what this means in practice, particularly in relation to the services we provide and what we

need to change. I know how incredibly busy everyone working in and connected to public services is at the moment. I really appreciate any time you and your colleagues can spare to help with our

planned engagement work set out below.

Structured interviews

We would like to organise a time for a member of our senior leadership team to meet with you and some key members of your team to talk through our plans, and gather your input and feedback. This will be conducted remotely in the form of a short-structured interview, which will take approximately 30mins. We will be in touch with you to arrange this in the coming weeks.

Register to attend an event

We have organised three events for people to be able to come together and share their ideas of what they think our future strategy should look like.

• Thursday 16 May 2024, 1.30-4.30pm - Assembly Hall, Worthing, West Sussex

• Monday 3 June 2024, 2.00-5.00pm - University of Sussex, Brighton

• Monday 17 June 2024, 10.30am-1.30pm - Civic Centre, Uckfield, East Sussex

Spaces are limited so if you or your colleagues would like to attend an event, please email strategy@spft.nhs.uk with details of the event you would like to attend.

Complete a short survey

We would also like as many people as possible to complete a short survey to help us gather further feedback and suggestions: surveymonkey.com/r/ourfuturefocus

Next steps

We will test ideas with you as we go. There is a dedicated page on our website where we will share updates on the progress of our strategy development.

All of this is a big job of work for us, which is why we want to take the time to do it properly. With your help this is a unique opportunity to have an honest, realistic appraisal of the challenges we face and at the same time draw upon our collective expertise, experience and resources to define future high-quality specialist NHS care for services users, families and carers.

Thank you in advance for your help, your time and your unique insight that will help shape the future of Sussex Partnership
